LHH is working with a insurance defense boutique that covers cases all over Ohio but headquartered in Cincinnati, with the bulk of the work centered on Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus. The cases are 90% insurance defense and 10% plaintiff personal injury as well as commercial disputes. The firm has a very established Cincinnati presence with fiercely loyal and very consistent clientele.
The firm is small but mighty with only a few attorneys as well as robust support staff.
The firm is actively seeking to hire an Associate to their team. This individual will possess 1-5 years of experience with the firm open to folks more experienced as well.
This search is very much focused on personality type. Someone must be smart, entrepreneurial, assertive, think on their own, and be someone that would be likeable to a jury. The firm has found that former athletes tend to check many of these personality boxes (so bonus points for competitive athletes!).
Litigation experience is also indicative of interest/commitment to that practice area. Someone who knows their way around a courtroom is ideal. Law firm attorneys and government attorneys are welcome to apply.
This individual can anticipate being able to have a hands-on litigation desk including mediations and depositions.
This firm does not currently have a billable hour requirement as the clients are retainer based. That said, this person can anticipate working at the same pace as an attorney with a 1600-1800 billable expectation.
This firm does believe that in-person presence is helpful and fosters productivity and collaboration so in-person presence in Cincinnati is important.
